Communication and support services
The Foothill-De Anza Police Department has a contract with the San José State University
Police Department to provide 24-hour dispatch services for the District. The Communications
Center at the San José State University Police Department is staffed 24 hours a day,
seven days a week by California POST (Peace Officer Standards and Training) certified
public safety dispatchers. The Communications Center manages police communications
for both Foothill and De Anza Community Colleges.
The public safety dispatchers serve as the critical link between the College community
and all public safety emergency and non-emergency responders. The dispatchers are
committed to acquiring and disseminating pertinent information to help protect life,
property, and the environment. In doing so, they strive to provide the community with
the highest level of service.
