Campus Outreach

The Foothill-De Anza Police Department is dedicated to building campus and community partnerships with students, faculty, staff, and those that visit our college campuses.

Our programs are designed to encourage conversation, education, trust, participation and allow opportunities for engagement with officers, CSO’s and dispatchers. Overall crime prevention is best achieved by partnerships with the campus, community, and the police department. Here are some of our upcoming outreach programs from Foothill-De Anza Police Department:

Shop with a Cop

Shop with a Cop

Dates: December, Annually

Each year, Chief Acosta and our officers help to support and partner with our local Shop with a Cop nonprofit organization to provide hundreds of students a holiday shopping spree along with local south Bay Area police officers. For many of the children, this special opportunity becomes one of the only holiday experiences they will have.

Shop with a Cop fosters continued mutual respect between law enforcement and the communities they serve. Through building trust in the community and changing the narrative, children see police officers through a different lens. These capacity-building programs also help at-risk youth achieve their fullest potential.
