What is Live Scan?
Live Scan is a process where the applicant's fingerprints are scanned electronically, rather than using ink and cards, and transmitted to the Department of Justice and FBI for processing.
Foothill-De Anza Police Department offers Live Scan service for both the District and members of the general public who need their fingerprints scanned, whether it be for employment, certification, or immigration.
Foothill College currently charges a $25.00 rolling fee. This fee is reduced to $20 for students and employees of the Foothill-De Anza College District, with proof of identification and enrollment/employment.
Additional processing fees are currently as follows:

In order to get Live Scan, it is necessary to have all of the following:
- Live Scan request form;
- Credit/Debit Card or check preferred to cover the fees. Visa or Mastercard;
- Valid photo identification, such as a Driver's License or Identification Card, or a passport;
- Applicants completing Live Scan to meet Foothill-De Anza District requirements must also provide their Social Security Number for successful processing;
All Live Scan services are currently suspended due to the COVID-19 pandemic.

Our Live Scan facilities are located on the Foothill College Campus, in the Police Department in the lower level of the Campus Center, Room 2103.
The following are directions to locate our facilities.
1- Take Highway 280 North from San Jose or 280 South from San Francisco;
2- Exit on El Monte Road;
3- Exit westbound;
4- Follow El Monte Road to Foothill College;
5- Veer right at the traffic light;
6- Keep in the left lane, and follow the one-way loop road that leads to the right around the campus;
7- Live Scan clients may park in the free 30-minute parking spaces located in the front of the Campus Center building;
*** These parking spaces are below the footbridge bus stop. If you realize you have passed the footbridge, you can proceed around the loop and use the fountain roundabout to get back to where you need to be.***
